Meet Your New Coach

You may not believe this, but I made it through 7 years of schooling before a teacher realized I could not read. This also interfered with my ability to get good grades in math. I could do basic math like adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying; but I could not figure out how many apples Johnny had after Sally took three of his five. After learning to read, I excelled in math and other subjects.

I began my career in 1982 enlisting in the Army which began my 40+ years in the world of finance and dedication to our great Nation. I was in Heidelberg Germany where I served until making a career change in 1992 transitioning to Federal Service working as an Accounting Technician. My Inspiration stems from escaping a dysfunctional marriage of 13 years finding myself happily divorced while raising three beautiful children on a single paycheck and trying to make ends meet. I will never forget the day I decided to take charge of my finances and plan my way to financial success using an excel spreadsheet. I became debt-free, bought my first home, funded my retirement, invested, and travelled because I finally felt empowered.

As I advanced in my career let us fast forward to 2009 when I landed my dream job in Kaiserslautern Germany! Over the next 5 years I taught tens of thousands of people about personal finances and found this came naturally to me. When my term was up, I moved to Wiesbaden Germany to work in Budget until finally coming home for my final assignment as an Accountant at DFAS Cleveland in Ohio until retiring in 2020.

At the onset of COVID-19 I opened my private practice as a financial coach and counselor. Watching so many people struggle, I quickly acted and became a member of a COVID-19 response team that provided emergency financial counseling to those in need. At the same time began working as a Ramsey Preferred Coach but decided to branch out.

My private practice has evolved into helping everyone to include veterans and entrepreneurs, also working with businesses to incorporate financial literacy as a wellness benefit and have individual clientele worldwide. My life experiences also have enabled me to help underserved and disability communities.

I love watching my clients evolve and become empowered to take charge and succeed both professionally and personally as they Deal With Dollar$.

Now I am excited about my new venture as a coach on MyBudgetCoach so I can reach even more people and guide them on the path to financial freedom!

What does a normal workday look like for me? Helping clients achieve their SMART goals, attending continued education trainings on financial literacy staying up with the times, while being an active member in my community helping the underserved. When I turn off my system, that is when I enjoy my five amazing grandchildren, take long walks with my dog, travel, read, draw, dance, and continue sharing my passion and knowledge in the all-encompassing world of personal finance.
